Blow-Ups & DPI
Make sure your original photo has a high resolution, otherwise your print will be pixelated and blurry. 300 dpi (dots per inch) is acceptible for boards up to 4'x5'. By the way, a JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group), aka JPG file for blow-ups will not cut the mustard, because the compression method is usually lossy compression, meaning that some visual quality is lost in the process and can not be restored. So changing the dpi of a jpg will not increase the quality. A JPG is typically 72 dpi.

Exception to the rule. If your original jpg image is close to or larger than the intended blow up size, you will be able to print without sacraficing quality. - Tip Out!
